  1. Players roll Need if the item that drops is any sort of upgrade (where upgrade is determined individually by each player). Consideration should be given for other group members' specific gear preferences and needs (i.e. Rogues may have a preference for daggers). This rule also encompasses Tier 4 tokens as well as any other items that can be used for quests.
  2. Players roll Greed on all "Bind on Equip" items unless they are an upgrade.
  3. Players will Pass on all "Bind on Pickup" items unless they are an upgrade.
  4. Players must nominate a member of the group to Disenchant any unwanted items. The Disenchanter must roll Greed on all items and disenchant them. At the end of the instance, the Disenchanter will evenly distribute all shards/dust/essence/crystals/etc. to interested group members.


An alternative system is 'Commie Loot +'. This system follows the same rules as above. However, items that all players can use (such as Scourgestones) are distributed in such a way that each eligible player gets one before anybody gets two. Once every player has the same amount of the item, distribution starts over.

Note: These are guidelines, not rules. While they are recommended, it is ultimately up to the group leader/loot master which set of loot rules will be used in any 5-player instance.
